– FOR PROFESSIONAL ACTORS, DIRECTORS AND WRITERS

Kirk Baltz is an American actor and master class teacher. He has appeared in a wide range of movies, notably in the part as Officer Marvin Nash in Quentin Tarantino’s Reservoir Dogs. As an acting teacher, Kirk Baltz has helped many actors, writers and directors all over the world gain a better understanding of strong acting techniques. The work can and does benefit all.

There is no actor I know with more artistic integrity, love of the craft, and just plain know-how than Kirk Baltz. – Philip Seymour Hoffman

Kirk encourages artists to fully be who they are while realizing their full potential. Kirk’s work also helps participants with practicing the differences between acting on stage, on camera and in a casting office. All work is Meisner and Method based – using movement, sensory work, improvisation, and script analysis. In joining this workshop, directors and writers will improve their own work through gained insight in the actor’s work and working process. No acting experience required for directors and writers!

All communication will be in English, but the participants can work with their texts in their own mother language.

If chosen to participate in the Kirk Baltz workshop, you will learn how to:

  • Strengthen your acting technique while working in a safe and inspiring environment
  • Make strong choices, which aid in the delivery of a performance that is truthful and alive
  • Keep your work fresh and consistent
  • Overcome personal blockages while achieving your full potential

You can expect:

  • One-on-one coaching (in a classroom setting) to help fine-tune your work
  • Going through the process of working on monologues and scenes while releasing emotion with freedom and clarity
  • Greater confidence in how you approach and experience your work as an artist

«Speed The Plow» and «Glengarry Glen Ross» by David Mamet are the plays that will be used during the workshop. The participants are expected to bring a 1 -2 minute monologue of own choosing, which can be from one of the two plays and in any language. Text material will be sent at least 3 weeks before the start of the workshop.

We launch the workshop with a Q&A with Kirk Baltz in Oslo on Sunday the 5th of February 2017.
